Dance Class Etiquette

Dress Code
Ballet students must wear black leotards, pink tights, ballet slippers, and a bun with all hair away from the face. All other students must wear leotards, form-fitting stretch pants (not below ankle) and/or footless tights with bare feet. Hair must be up and out of the face.

Arrival & Attendance

Students are expected to arrive at least five minutes before their scheduled class time and not more than fifteen minutes before the first class of the day. Classes will start on time and the studio door closes five minutes after class begins. When a student knows he/she will be arriving late to class, they must make arrangements prior to their class by calling the dance director or 978-424-7999. Students may bring water into the studio (NO gum or food) and are welcome to relax or do homework in the waiting room before or after class.

Attendance is very important. A phone call must be made to the dance director if student is going to miss a class. Too many absences may result in student moving down a level. Dancers in the Awakening Company are required to make 90% of all classes and rehearsals.

Cancellations
Cornerstone will follow the Fitchburg Public School calendar for week-long holidays and snow days. Snow day makeup classes will be scheduled at a time to be determined later in the year. If Cornerstone cancels class for any other reason, there will be a make-up week at the end of the year or on a Saturday with proper notification.
