About The Mad Music Box

The Mad Music Box is a new dance production by Dendron Dance presented by Cornerstone Performing Arts Center. This riveting and mystical dance story will bring audiences into a magical world where dolls come to life and break out of their traditional and stereotypical roles. The music box maker sits in his workshop creating music boxes with intricate dolls of all types and sizes. One evening these dolls come to life. Is he dreaming or is this the new world that he has created. All spectators can relate to the music boxes of childhood, whether it is the classic ballerina turning on point, or the ever popular “Jack in the Box.” This dance production is sure to delight children and adults of all ages, and the memories of a nostalgic childhood.

Credits: Music Box was created in part by an “artist in residency” at the Broken Bridge writers and artist summer workshop in Pomfret, Connecticut.
