Class Descriptions                                                                                  

Beginner Modern I
This class concentrates on developing the technique necessary for the growth of young dancers.  Students will learn proper technique and correct body alignment, which are instrumental for the progression of dance training.  Creative movement skills will also be taught because children learn best in an atmosphere where they are encouraged to be creative while learning discipline.


Beginner Modern II
This class is for the serious dancer wanting to work on technique, while still fostering artistic expression through creative and composition time.

Intermediate Modern
This class is designed for the serious dancer wanting to learn various modern dance techniques including Horton, Taylor, Graham, and contemporary.  Floor work, including some elements of break-dancing, will be taught along with discipline necessary to be a modern dancer.  Placement audition or at least two years of modern or ballet required.

Advanced Modern
This class is designed for the serious dancer and the pre-professional dancer. Techniques include Horton, Taylor, Graham, and Contemporary.  Two years of modern or ballet required and students registered for this class must also register for at least one ballet class. Audition or invitation required.

Adult Modern: Drop-In
This class is fun and it works with modern dance technique to enhance all muscles and proper body alignment. This class promises to be a great work out with energizing music and great dance technique. Adults of all levels and ages are welcome. This is a drop-in class.


Ballet                                                                                                            

Beginner Ballet
The focus of this class will be placed on the technical importance of ballet necessary for the dancer's training.  The class includes ballet barre and center work exercises, with an emphasis placed on alignment, musicality, and technical achievement.


Intermediate Ballet
The focus of this class will be on the technical importance of ballet necessary for the dancer's training.  The class includes ballet barre, adagio, and allegro exercises.  Class focuses on reinforcing and furthering proper alignment, musicality, and technical achievement.


Advanced Ballet
This class is for the serious dancer with at least four years of ballet training.  The emphasis will be on musicality, refining technique, and performance-quality class participation.  Audition or invitation required.
